Let’s Get to Know Each Other.

DJ Jess had one of the awesome-est high school extracurriculars ever: (wait for it)…Strolling Strings, a show choir for violinists in Jess’ hometown of Joplin, Missouri. A super-talented musician, Jess and her fellow Strolling Strings member would walk through parties, in a single-file line, whilst playing old classics and big band hits for a bunch of confused party patrons. Jess has since moved on, both from violin show choir and from Joplin, but music is still her passion. She currently plays bass for Chicago-based Impulsive Hearts and occasionally plays the violin for bands in need of a little country/americana flair. In her free time, you'll probably find her at a local show supporting Chicago’s vibrant music scene, or volunteering at Girls Rock! Chicago where she helps prepare the next generation of musicians.
