We had the privilege of working with Shannon, who is awesome and easy to talk to. She absolutely nailed our taste: the dancefloor was packed with friends and family all night! Shannon also acted as a great MC, not intrusive or cheesy! The entire night moved along according to our timeline seamlessly – ceremony music, speech announcements, everything was perfectly executed. We can’t say thank you enough for the outstanding professionalism and experience we received from T&J and Shannon.

Emily did a stellar job DJ’ing our wedding and we could not be more impressed with our Toast and Jam experience. From our first meeting with Emily, where she attentively listened to us share our music tastes and asked plenty of questions to better understand our wedding vision, we knew the T & J was the right choice. She was full of ideas, suggestions and help that helped guide not just the music but also the whole event. She started off before the ceremony with soft instrumental songs then set the tone through cocktail hour and dinner with some fun yet unobtrusive favorites before kicking off the dance party with a medley of high energy jams from all decades and genres. Emily worked with the mood of the room and each song went perfectly with the feel of the moment. For days after our wedding, guests shared with us how much they enjoyed the music throughout the evening. Emily is professional and fun with a wide range of music knowledge and a great sense of timing. We recommend her and T & J 1000x over!

We hired Jess to DJ our wedding and it was one of the best, most complete decisions we made. Jess was the ultimate — she helped us with everything, from helping us coordinate the music to the entrance of our bridal party to working with our photographer to plan out a photo to secure maximum dance time! She was hilarious as hell, super genuine, and just a ball to be around. To this day, our friends & family talk about Jess and the amazing work she did musically celebrating our wedding. Thank you, Jess!

Norah kept the dance floor full ALL NIGHT LONG and I had to give her some kudos! She did a fabulous job of mixing our very eclectic music choices to keep our families and friends jamming late into the night. She made this night so special and fun for my husband and I as well as our guests. She had a fantastic knack for knowing just which song to play when, for going with the flow when we changed our plans and even deftly handled tough family situations with ease and a comforting touch. She carefully curated the list of songs to reflect what we had requested and was able to accommodate a guest singer during the ceremony and timed our processional perfectly with multiple music selections to be played at various times. Our guests loved her fun and playful nature and enjoyed bantering with her to get their wacky requests played. Norah literally made our day — it would not have been the same without her. We didn’t have to worry about a thing and people are still raving about the party. Thanks to Norah and Toast and Jam!

From our initial meeting, Norah made us feel comfortable and excited about our wedding. She had a wonderful blend of professionalism and fun that was exactly what we were looking for. Norah made me feel comfortable, too, when the answer to what kind of music do you like was exclusively 90’s pop.” We really struggled with the songs to choose for our first dance, processional, recessional, and parent dances. Norah was patient and helpful as we tried to make these very important decisions. The father-daughter song that I chose was fairly obscure, and Norah worked hard to find it. She set realistic expectations of whether or not she would be able to make it happen, and in the end, she did! During the wedding, the dance floor was always packed. She even came up to us toward the end of the night to let us know about how many songs we had left to go and to make sure that we got to hear everything we wanted (which we already had because she had done such an amazing job with our request list). Something that really stood out to us as we worked with Nora was how helpful she was in all aspects of the planning. She was a great resource for any questions that we had and we felt like we could bounce ideas off of her. We were partners planning together and that made a huge difference. Everyone, including my very particular father, spoke very highly of her after the wedding and have commented about how great the DJ was at our wedding in the months since. We would highly recommend Nora! She’s fantastic!

When we were looking for a DJ, my spouse and I were worried that our request only to play music made by women at our wedding would be met with skepticism. During our first meeting with Emily, we found out that she studied women in music for her graduate degree and she seemed genuinely stoked to be working within our parameters. If there is such a thing as wedding DJ kismet, this was it. Every part of working with Emily felt special, even though we were planning our Chicago wedding from Washington, D.C. Emily was communicative, intuitive, well-organized, huh-larious, and so knowledgeable about music from every genre imaginable. She deftly managed the flow of the ceremony and reception and we felt comfortable knowing that she was running the show. Toast & Jam made it easy to pay for everything, and the sweaty guests on the dance floor at the end of the night were a testament to how worthwhile the service was. Emily is an incredible talent and Toast & Jam has a good thing going. You will not regret booking them!

When planning our wedding we started making lists of DJs we were going to meet with. The first scheduled was with Norah and it was about five minutes in I knew we would cancel our other meetings. Whether it was discussing the, feel’ of cocktail hour or discussing our, must plays’ Norah was on the same page as us from Jump Street. From the moment the first song started to the end of the night I lost count of the amount of people who came up to us to compliment the job she was doing. We can not recommend Norah and Toast and Jam enough – she made one of the biggest days of our lives even more memorable.

DJ Jess was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was responsive to our requests and laid out a great way to run a reception, not just the dancing component. I would highly recommend her, let alone Toast & Jam, for any wedding or event.

We hired Toast & Jam for our wedding out near St. Charles in November and everything was terrific! Norah and Bonnie were great at the reception making sure all the songs for the particular parts (cake cutting, father-daughter dance, etc…) went smoothly. The playlists for the cocktail hour and dancing were great. Norah worked with us to make sure we had any particular songs we needed to hear but also filled in the gaps so it was easy for us.

We used Toast and Jam for our wedding in August of this year, and were paired up with our DJ Norah, who was fantastic from our first meeting all the way through to the end of our wedding night. On our first consult with her, she was super professional, and approachable, had a great collection of music styles to choose from. She was instantly able to get a really good idea of the music styles we were looking for, (and even a no-play list for songs we didn’t want) We had a fairly atypical wedding, both in the music selection and the timeline of the event. Norah was fantastic at incorporating all of our music style requests including some traditional Polish pop songs, and traditional Assyrian middle eastern songs for our families. In addition, she worked with us on a custom timeline for our evening that included small dance breaks between each meal course, and a variety of slow and fast dance music throughout the night. Her sense of timing, and picking just the right songs to match the mood of the room and dance floor was perfect. Getting specific song requests to her in advance was a breeze, and she got to every request we asked for over the course of the evening. We could not have asked for a friendlier, more helpful, or more talented DJ than Norah, and we we heard from many guests after the fact how much fun they had at our wedding and how much they enjoyed the music selection. We can’t thank her enough for helping to make our wedding fantastic. If Norah and the Toast and Jam team are available for your wedding, book her!! You won’t regret it!
