We want Emily to be our new best friend. But really — she was such an amazing DJ/emcee/taskmaster/etc. From the very beginning, she was able to help us articulate what *we* wanted. She helped us begin to think about details and nuances we surely wouldn’t have considered on our own until it was a crisis (oh dear the pie-cutting music!). She was always good-humored, thoughtful, and totally clairvoyant about our picky musical tastes. We’re pretty sure that every single person danced at some point during the reception, and our friends-with-picky-musical-tastes were also blown away. Thanks Emily!

If the priest is the officiant of the wedding, then the DJ is the officiant of the reception. The music provided by Kristin Marks at our wedding was masterful and we do not say that lightly. Kristin was our audio EMT and had her finger on our wedding’s rhythmic pulse the entire night making sure the party never died. From enticing melodies to get everyone (and we DO mean everyone) on the dance floor to epic crescendos that we thought could not be topped…until the next song. It was scary how well Kristin could read the minds of my wife, our guests, and myself and pick the right song to keep the party going. From our initial meeting to begging her for one more song, our experience with Kristin and the Toast & Jam team was outstanding and exceeded our hopes. Thank you and keep up the wonderful work!

Tabitha kept our dance floor packed all night while keeping the music exactly our style. She really took the time to get to know us before the wedding and it showed during our cocktail hour & reception. We couldn’t have been happier with everything, not only with Tabitha personally but with Toast & Jam overall.

Emily from Toast & Jam really helped us in planning the reception timeline, and everything happened seamlessly the day of the wedding. She integrated a Persian ceremony for us and she timed the speeches and first dances perfectly, we didn’t have to worry about anything. The music during the dancing was better than we could have planned ourselves. She was great to work with, and we got a lot of compliments on the music!! Our wedding was perfect!

I cannot more highly recommend Toast & Jam! Emily DJ’d our wedding ceremony and reception in July 2013 and was simply fabulous. I had heard another T&J DJ at a friend’s wedding so it was a no brainer that we’d hire them, especially after meeting Emily (so fun!) and seeing their extremely reasonable (possibly even too low) pricing. Emily was among my most responsive wedding vendors (I am very organized and I really, really appreciate the few vendors who are as well) and she was super enthusiastic and helpful giving us feedback on song choices, timelines, setup and pretty much any question we had. She was an absolute pleasure to work with leading up to the wedding and she kept the dance floor rockin’ with a really cool variety of music that appealed to guests young and old. I wish I could get married again so I could hire Emily to DJ!

Karin is such an amazingly talented DJ! We had a rather small morning wedding with an early afternoon reception, so we were a little worried that no matter how much booze we provided, none of our guests would want to dance. Karin, however, made it happen – so many people were having a blast on the dance floor! By the end of the afternoon, we could barely get one of my aunts to stop dancing! Karin really made the transition from ceremony to reception smooth, in spite of the space being a potential logistical nightmare. She exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend her — you cannot go wrong with Karin!

Toast and Jam really knows how to throw a party! Karin was a great DJ and such a wonderful person. We planned our wedding in Chicago remotely from New York, so all of our meetings with Karin were remote. The process could not have been easier. We met over Skype a couple times, and discussed our lives, tastes in music, and plans for the wedding. By the end of the process, I felt like Karin understood what my wife and I were looking for out of our evening — and she certainly proved she did! The ceremony sounded beautiful and the reception was a blast. By the end of the night I felt like we gave our guests a unique and fun mix of music that fell a little bit outside of the wedding-music box, but Karin knew where to take it to keep everyone having a great time! Thank you so much, Karin!

Karin is a rock star — she kept our wedding guests going strong on the dance floor from the minute it opened to the very last song. We’ve had so many friends and family members comment on how much they enjoyed the music – and we owe it all to Karin. She took our completely random music tastes & song favorites and turned it into an incredible playlist with seamless transitions.
Not only was the dancing portion absolute perfection, but Karin was able to also make sure that the songs we wanted for our ceremony (completely non-traditional) work with our wedding party size and overall theme. The music played during cocktails and dinner really highlighted our favorites, but also played to the wide age range of those at our reception.
Thank you, Karin! You really made our wedding memorable.

We heard two phrases over and over again:
“This was the best wedding we have ever been to”
“This is the best New Year’s Eve we have ever been to”
Obviously, we are thrilled to hear this and anxious to take credit, but the truth is – this was all Dena. Never a dull moment, never a lull, just dancing magic, smiles, sparkles all night long. 3.5 hour solid dancing block where everyone was on the floor, the whole time. Killer New Year’s Eve countdown that had an incredible build up of songs to midnight and even more spectacular celebratory songs after. Nailed a song cue mid ceremony from behind a staircase. The skills go on and on.
We planned our wedding from Los Angeles, so we asked a wedding planning friend in Chicago for advice on who should DJ. She said Toast and Jam, no other options. We are so glad we asked.

The floor was bouncing and the speakers were shaking! T&J did an amazing job deejaying our wedding, seamlessly blending the traditional cultural music with old soul and dance tracks. Dena was fun, professional, and thorough, making sure everything was perfect.
