DJ Miguel
Pronouns: he/him
While growing up in Oak Park, Miguel considered himself a rockero but as he got older, he supplemented his head banging with dancing, which naturally expanded into other genres of music like Neo-Soul, Hip hop, Dancehall, House, Reggaeton, Bachata and other Latin Music. He hadn’t considered DJing, however, until he started working at the Whistler and started checking out the local DJ nights and was inspired. Perhaps influenced by his abuelo, who plays violin in mariachi bands in Mexico, Miguel plays lead guitar for garage rock band, Coyote Fire, bass for indie alternative band, The Sea and the Stone, and currently taking singing lessons. When not playing music, Miguel is a big geography nerd who loves to travel, peruse maps, and work out (Amazing Race? Are you casting?) He is fluent in Spanish.
